Excellence
An Azrieli Fellow is driven, excellent and determined to have an impact on society.
Drive
By enabling multidisciplinary study and the cross-pollination of ideas, the Azrieli Foundation aims to break down academic silos, encourage creative thinking and drive out-of-the-box solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues.
Impact
Azrieli Fellows, in addition to their academic work, volunteer in the community, frequently finding innovative ways to improve the lives of others. Each year, the Fellows contribute more than 2,100 hours of volunteer service.

Financial Support
The Azrieli Graduate Fellowship is between ILS 122,000 and 128,000 per academic year, depending on the precise track, as outlined in the program’s guidelines. This sum is divided into a monthly stipend of ILS 9,000 and an additional sum of ILS 14,000 or 20,000 per year reserved for research expenses.
Maintaining High Academic Standards
Fellows are expected to maintain a high level of academic excellence at their host university throughout the program. This is evaluated through the progress reports to be submitted on a regular basis.
Community Engagement
Azrieli Fellows are expected to volunteer 40 hours over the course of the academic year in an a-political or non-partisan activity or program to be approved in advance and in writing by the Azrieli Fellows Program management. Travel expenses will be covered by the Foundation.
Participation in Program-Sponsored Events
The program activities and events are aimed at creating a welcoming, sociable environment, developing skills, promoting leadership and encouraging interdisciplinary research. Involvement in the program’s activities promotes interaction with researchers in a multi-disciplinary setting, introductions to world-renowned scientists and scholars, and networking with a vibrant community of scholars.
Publications & Dissemination
Any publications that result from research activities conducted during the fellowship period must acknowledge the support of the Azrieli Foundation. Fellows may also be asked to submit an abstract of their dissertation and published works to the Azrieli Fellows Program management for use in publicity material produced by the program and on the Foundation website.
Alumni Activities
Fellows will be asked to act as ambassadors for the Azrieli Fellows Program – to talk about their experiences with others, to publicize the Fellowship to their colleagues and to potential candidates, and to participate in information sessions for new candidates that may be held in their region. Alumni will be invited to attend ongoing Program activities and events. In the future, it is expected that alumni will assist in the selection process for incoming students.
