Synopsis
Writing a doctoral thesis is a long and winding process that presents many challenges. However, often towards and after its completion, there is difficulty and even embarrassment in trying to understand the next step, whether within academia or elsewhere. This workshop aims to present and discuss the various options available to those who are about to complete their third degree, particularly outside of academia, while getting to know the range of fields and experiencing the integration of research practice with other domains.
Outcome:
- Familiarization with research and content realms inside and outside academia
- Developing directions for making the PhD accessible
- Experience in presenting research tailored to different platforms

About the Instructor
Dr. Omer Einav is a historian and creator, director of the Yad Yaari Center for Research and Documentation of the HaShomer HaTza’ir Movement. He is the creator and host of the documentary series “We Will Always Have Mexico” (Kan 11 and Sports Channel, 2024), author of the books “Defending the Goal” (Am Oved, 2022) and “We’ll Stay Here Forever” (Kibbutz Meuchad – Poalim Library, 2022), and creator and host of the podcast “Preliminary Stage” (Sports Channel, 2021). He has extensive experience in writing, research, and teaching in both academic and non-academic environments. He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of History at Tel Aviv University
