Synopsis
In the era of information overload, the most notable and memorable studies are those that tell a story. In this workshop, we will learn how to construct a narrative around the most relevant questions: What is the problem? What has been proposed so far? What do I choose to ask? How do I examine it? And what can be inferred from it? We will watch a live three-minute research presentation and analyze together what makes a pitch successful. Afterwards, we will work together to refine each participant’s research into a concise and effective story that can be delivered when needed. Participants will also practice live presentations of their stories and provide each other with feedback.
Outcomes
- Participants will become familiar with different types of research presentations,
including the three-minute pitch. - Participants will understand the foundational elements of every successful pitch.
- Participants will draft and practice a short description of their research story.
