Synopsis
Brilliant scholars often fail to adapt their communication style to different contexts – from academic conferences to industry interviews. This limits their impact and career opportunities. Successful professionals master two communication languages: the language of power (direct, assertive) and the language of connection (collaborative, empathetic). This workshop teaches participants to flexibly switch between these modes through communication style assessment, assertive presentation techniques, and rapport-building skills. Participants will practice through interactive role-plays in scenarios such as research collaborations, salary negotiations, conflict resolution, and mentoring junior researchers.
Outcomes
- Enhanced research impact through more effective presentations and networking
- Improved negotiation skills for funding, salary, and collaborative opportunities
- Stronger leadership capabilities in mentoring and team management
