Synopsis
This workshop helps researchers assess whether their work can be transformed into a viable business opportunity. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the startup lifecycle—from ideation to early market validation—and learn how to frame their research as an initial value proposition. Through hands-on exercises and guided feedback, they will define a preliminary startup concept, conduct basic market research, and evaluate next steps for potential commercialization.

About the Instructor
Dr. Amnon Dekel is the Executive Director of ASPER-HUJI Innovate, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. With over 20 years of experience in product development and applied research, he has co-founded three startups and received international recognition, including a Pulitzer Prize nomination for his work with The New York Times. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Hebrew University and also creates technology-based art showcased by institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
