Azrieli Fellows Workshops 2025-2026

Back to all workshops
  • How to Become a Disruptive Scientist

Synopsis

Science advances rapidly, but many researchers are frustrated by the gap between the demand for high performance and the lack of relevant training and skills. Academia trains for incremental progress, but breakthrough science requires different mindsets and skills. This workshop uses startup and tech strategies to help researchers develop a disruptive mindset, identify opportunities, and leverage them for scientific breakthroughs. It is based on the recently published book How to Become a Disruptive Scientist and has been carefully adapted for researchers across disciplines, from natural and life sciences to social sciences and the humanities.

Outcomes

  • Gain exposure to breakthrough-oriented methods, practical tools, and hands-on materials
  • Develop a disruptive mindset that can transform scientific careers and research impact
  • Acquire a unique methodology unavailable in other academic or professional programs
