Azrieli Fellows Workshops 2025-2026

Back to all workshops
  • Effective Digital Notetaking with Obsidian

Synopsis

Disorganized notes and to-do lists, scattered references, and constant tool-switching make research more stressful than necessary. Researchers need a smart, reliable system that keeps everything connected, easy to find, and ready to use. This workshop introduces effective digital note-taking and knowledge management principles using Obsidian, a free and flexible software. Through hands-on practice, participants will learn to use Obsidian to organize their work: tracking to-do lists, collecting notes and references, recording ideas, linking them into mind maps, and drafting papers — all in one interconnected place. Participants will begin using Obsidian immediately, with a customizable setup tailored to academic workflows provided during the workshop.

Outcome:

  • Improve digital note-taking and knowledge management skills
  • Gain familiarity with Obsidian features relevant to academic workflows
  • Create a personalized Obsidian project configured to fit individual research needs
