Synopsis
Getting your code to work is only the first step. To publish an analysis, share it with collaborators, or reuse it yourself later, it also has to be reproducible and well organised. Only then can you make sure that your code still runs on another machine or months down the line, and is clear enough that someone else (including your future self) can follow it. This two-session workshop covers practical ways to make your R analysis reproducible and reusable. The first session is about the analysis itself: organising your files into a structured project, writing clear and consistent code, and keeping track of all dependencies. The second session introduces Quarto, which combines code, results, and text in a single document. With Quarto you can generate reproducible reports, papers, slides or even websites straight from your analysis without copying and pasting figures or numbers. Both sessions are hands-on, with every explanation followed by an exercise where you write and run code yourself.
Outcomes
Structure an R project so it stays organised and runs on other machines Write clear, consistent code that others can understand Record the dependencies your analysis needs Build a Quarto document that combines code, results, and text, and export it as a PDF, HTML or Word document A project template and example files to take away.
Requirements
The “Introduction to Data Analysis with R” workshop, or equivalent familiarity with R, is recommended. You should be able to load data, do basic manipulation with dplyr, and make simple plots with ggplot2. We’ll work in Positron; if you prefer RStudio, that works too, but examples will be shown in Positron.
Session Dates:
Tuesday, June 1, 2027, 17:00–19:00 (Israel Time)
Sunday, June 6, 2027, 17:00–19:00 (Israel Time)
Participation in all sessions is required.
About the Instructors
