Synopsis
A grant application includes several sections, such as an introduction, a research plan, and preliminary data. While many scientists can write these individual parts well, the grants that stand out are not simply a collection of separate sections; rather, they tell a compelling story about what the researcher aims to achieve and why it matters to the field. In this workshop, fellows will explore these questions and gain practical tools for building a narrative arc for an upcoming grant application. Please come prepared with a list of call for proposals you plan to submit to, as well as any grant materials you have written so far.
Outcomes
- Understand how to build a narrative arc for a grant.
- Formulate the narrative arc for one current grant.
