Synopsis
Network Science is a multidisciplinary field that is relevant to a wide range of academic fields; Social interactions, organizations, cyber, economics, epidemiology, the brain’s connectome – all are examples of potential networks that hide in our data. Network Science and Social Network Analysis are the disciplines that we’ll use to detect these networks and derive insights from their structure.
Outcomes
- Acquiring tools to analyze networks.
- Extracting data-driven insights from networks whether they are social networks, computer networks, organizational networks, biological networks, etc.
- Applications of Network Science to a variety of disciplines.

About the Instructor
Asaf Shapira is a Network Science & SNA specialist who leads the online community of the field in Israel. Asaf is also the host of NETfrix – The Network Science Podcast and the co-host of Data Skeptic, probably the most famous podcast in Data Science. Asaf teaches Network Science at the Faculty of Engineering – Tel-Aviv University and at Shenkar’s software engineering department. His new book about Network Science is scheduled to be published by Pardes publication in 2025.
