For Immediate Release — The iconic Azrieli name, which is attached to so many Jewish and Israel-based programs and organizations, is now proudly connected to the Birthright Israel Foundation of Canada (BRIFC) thanks to a $5 million pledged gift from the Azrieli Foundation.
Together with Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the Azrieli Foundation announced today an increased funding commitment to the Azrieli Neurodevelopmental Research Program bringing its total investment to $15 million.
Research into the workings of the human brain has been described as the “last frontier of science” and, especially in recent years, neuroscientists are frequently compared to “pioneers” — pushing out and enlarging the borders of our understanding in new and wholly unexpected ways. The tag also suggests the need to be creative, open to new ways of seeing and ready for hard work.
