The first Azrieli International Postdoctoral Fellows Forum of the year took place on March 20, with a full schedule of activities featuring speakers and steering committee members from China, Germany, Italy, Romania, Czechia, France, India, and Spain.
At its core were engaging 10-minute TED-style presentations by 10 new fellows in the international postdoctoral track, who introduced their research to the broader community in a friendly and accessible format, followed by audience questions. The fellows had previously undergone training in science communication to help them present complex ideas clearly and compellingly.
These presentations, along with opportunities for networking and informal discussion, brought together a diverse group of researchers for a day of rich academic exchange on topics ranging from chemistry to Indian history.
The forum opened and closed with informal games led by the steering committee, creating a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere that encouraged interaction.
The day struck a strong balance between scholarly content and community building, setting a solid foundation for the year’s upcoming activities. The next gathering, scheduled for June, will feature presentations by eight additional fellows.
