Fostering a vibrant academic community is central to the mission of the Azrieli Fellows Program. By bringing scholars from different disciplines together in meaningful ways, the program aims to create a network that thrives on collaboration, shared experiences, and personal connections. Every year, several events are organized to encourage Azrieli Fellows to step out of the lab, archive, or office, to socialize and connect. On an unusually cold evening in Jerusalem, as the sun set, a group of about 40 Fellows gathered for an outing to the Israel Museum.
The event brought together Fellows, offering many of the new cohort their first opportunity to meet and engage with Fellows from continuing cohorts. For some, it was their first visit to the iconic Jerusalem institution; for others, a chance to rediscover well-loved treasures. Upon arrival, the group split into two guided tours. These tours explored ancient artifacts and modern art alongside captivating displays of photography, architecture, and more—offering an inspiring blend of perspectives.
Following the tours, the Fellows reconvened and travelled to a nearby restaurant. There, lively conversations unfolded around long tables laden with an array of salads, pastas, pizzas, and, of course, wine. The shared meal provided a fitting conclusion to an evening of cultural enrichment and camaraderie, fostering new friendships and strengthening existing connections.
