Second Azrieli Graduate Studies Forum of 2025

The second Azrieli Graduate Studies Fellows Forum was held on March 26, 2025, offering a full day of interactive programming focused on cross-disciplinary and intra-disciplinary engagement. The event brought together fellows for a full day of connection and research-sharing.

At the heart of the Forum were eight new Graduate Studies Fellows, each delivering a 10-minute TED-style talk aimed at making their research accessible to a broad academic audience. The talks—ranging in topic from junk DNA to political imagination—reflected the fellows’ recent training in science communication. The quality of the presentations was outstanding, and each was followed by a Q&A session that encouraged cross-disciplinary dialogue.

Framing the speaker sessions were networking activities developed by a steering committee of fellows. The morning featured interdisciplinary group exercises in which teams of four were asked to formulate shared research questions. Many of the ideas were intentionally humorous, creating a relaxed atmosphere that fostered collaboration across fields. In the afternoon, fellows met in discipline-specific groups for more candid discussions about discipline-specific challenges.

The next forum, scheduled for May, will feature presentations by another group of eight fellows.
