On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the Azrieli Fellows Program hosted a vibrant orientation day to welcome its newest cohort of 25 Graduate Studies Fellows and 9 International Visiting PhD Fellows. Marking the official launch of their fellowship, the event brought together this exceptional group of researchers to build connections and learn about the comprehensive support system available to them through the program.
Notably, this was the first time the program held a joint orientation for these two tracks, fostering valuable networking between international and Israeli fellows at this early stage of their journey.
Dr. Aviad Stollman (Global Director) and Prof. Hermona Soreq (Senior Academic Advisor) greeted the attendees, setting an inspiring tone for the subsequent activities where fellows introduced themselves and shared their diverse research backgrounds.
The day was facilitated by Rochelle Avitan (Program Director), who warmly welcomed the incoming cohort, described the historical context and founding vision of the program, and introduced the components of the fellowship. Dana Hikry, the program’s Wellbeing Officer, then presented the support available to the Azrieli Fellows and outlined the community engagement and volunteer activities expected of them.
The day concluded with a strong sense of shared purpose, leaving the new cohort fully equipped and inspired to embark on a year of academic excellence and collaborative innovation.
We extend our warmest welcome to the new cohort and wish them the best of luck!
