Celles-ci portaient sur l\u2019apprentissage pratique des r\u00e9cits\ncollectifs, des cultures, des langues, des traditions et des valeurs des\ncommunaut\u00e9s des Premi\u00e8res Nations. Il y avait aussi des le\u00e7ons sur l\u2019\u00e9ducation\nadapt\u00e9e \u00e0 la culture, l\u2019\u00e9ducation sp\u00e9ciale, le professionnalisme, la sant\u00e9\nmentale et le bien-\u00eatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s \u00e9mue par l\u2019exercice de la couverture, un\natelier explorant la relation entre les Autochtones et les non-Autochtones au\nCanada. Chacun \u00e9tait invit\u00e9 \u00e0 poser les pieds sur des couvertures repr\u00e9sentant\nles territoires autochtones avant l\u2019arriv\u00e9e des Europ\u00e9ens. Nous avons assum\u00e9 le\nr\u00f4le des peuples autochtones et inuits alors que l\u2019histoire \u2014&nbsp;trait\u00e9s, colonisation,\npensionnats autochtones, r\u00e9sistance&nbsp;\u2014 se d\u00e9ployait sous nos pieds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019exercice de la couverture \u00e9tait suivi d\u2019un cercle de\npartage \u00e9mouvant, o\u00f9 chaque membre de notre groupe de 70 personnes a parl\u00e9 \u00e0\ntour de r\u00f4le de ce que nous venions de vivre. La discussion \u00e9tait anim\u00e9e par un\nsurvivant des pensionnats autochtones qui nous a fait part de son histoire et\nnous a offert son soutien durant les moments les plus d\u00e9chirants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les recherches ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un enseignant efficace constitue le facteur le plus important pour assurer la r\u00e9ussite scolaire. Teach for Canada\/Enseigner pour le Canada aide les enseignants \u00e0 r\u00e9ussir afin que leurs \u00e9l\u00e8ves r\u00e9ussissent \u00e0 leur tour. Le programme a d\u00e9j\u00e0 donn\u00e9 lieu \u00e0 des am\u00e9liorations dans les communaut\u00e9s du Nord. Dans la plupart des \u00e9coles, le taux de fr\u00e9quentation scolaire avant la venue de Teach for Canada\/Enseigner pour le Canada \u00e9tait de moins de 50&nbsp;%. Depuis, ces \u00e9coles ont connu une augmentation de 35&nbsp;%. Il a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 ce projet, mais en effectuant des recherches sur les raisons du d\u00e9crochage scolaire, il a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 que de nombreux \u00e9l\u00e8ves \u00e9prouvent une d\u00e9saffection pour l\u2019\u00e9cole bien avant de d\u00e9crocher. En 2002 est n\u00e9 l\u2019Institut Azrieli pour l\u2019autonomie par l\u2019\u00e9ducation, dont l\u2019approche novatrice visait \u00e0 intervenir aupr\u00e8s des \u00e9l\u00e8ves \u00e0 un plus jeune \u00e2ge, afin de s\u2019assurer qu\u2019ils poursuivent leur scolarit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le programme offre du soutien\np\u00e9dagogique, enseigne des comp\u00e9tences de d\u00e9veloppement social ainsi que des\ns\u00e9minaires pour am\u00e9liorer les modes de communication entre les jeunes et leurs\nparents. Ses op\u00e9rations couvrent les villes et les communaut\u00e9s isra\u00e9liennes\nd\u00e9favoris\u00e9es sur le plan socio-\u00e9conomique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 2018, la Fondation Azrieli et les \u00e9coles Darca se sont associ\u00e9es pour offrir du soutien \u00e0 des milliers d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ves appartenant \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes communaut\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/darca.org.il\/en\/homepage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"L\u2019Institut Azrieli pour l\u2019autonomie par l\u2019\u00e9ducation (opens in a new tab)\">L\u2019Institut Azrieli pour l\u2019autonomie par l\u2019\u00e9ducation<\/a> est maintenant g\u00e9r\u00e9 par le r\u00e9seau Darca. On estime que 40&nbsp;000 jeunes Canadiens du secondaire d\u00e9crochent chaque ann\u00e9e. Passeport s\u2019est donn\u00e9 pour but de rejoindre 20&nbsp;000 jeunes d\u2019ici dix ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette organisation prim\u00e9e pour son travail amenuise les obstacles qui rendent difficile l\u2019obtention d\u2019un dipl\u00f4me d\u2019\u00e9tudes secondaires, et se concentre sur le potentiel d\u2019un avenir prometteur en offrant du leadership, de l\u2019expertise ainsi que des programmes ancr\u00e9s dans la communaut\u00e9, afin de r\u00e9duire les taux de d\u00e9crochage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lanc\u00e9 en 2001 \u00e0 Regent Park (Toronto) pour s\u2019attaquer au probl\u00e8me du taux d\u2019obtention de dipl\u00f4mes d\u2019\u00e9tudes secondaires dans cette communaut\u00e9, le programme a connu un tel succ\u00e8s qu\u2019il a incit\u00e9 Passeport \u00e0 reproduire le mod\u00e8le dans d\u2019autres communaut\u00e9s. Aujourd\u2019hui, il aide 5300 jeunes \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle du Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passeport a am\u00e9lior\u00e9 les taux de diplomation moyen de 85&nbsp;% au sein des communaut\u00e9s qu\u2019il dessert.
